Cowtown Throwdown 2025 Recap:

Team 5968, the Little Apple Cyborgs, competed at Cowtown Throwdown 2025 and finished Rank 18 of 42, with a score of 4 wins and 4 losses during qualifications. Our robot performed consistently across all eight matches, showing steady improvement in both autonomous and tele-operated phases. Highlights included strong scoring performances in Matches 18 and 29, where our alliance coordination and reliability stood out.

We were honored to be selected for Alliance 7 in the playoffs, teaming up with 3284 - Camdenton LASER and 5454 - Obsidian. Although our playoff run ended in the quarterfinals against the tough Alliances 2 and 6, the experience helped us refine our strategies under pressure and strengthen our communication as a team.

From this competition, we learned the importance of adaptability, scouting, and quick pit adjustments. Major mechanical repairs and autonomous tuning between matches made a big difference. We also gained valuable insight into alliance strategy including balancing offensive scoring with defensive positioning and endgame timing.

Overall, Cowtown was an incredible opportunity to learn, compete, and grow. We’re proud of our progress and excited to bring these lessons into the next season. The Little Apple Cyborgs continue to grow one match at a time.
